Alberto Camarasa (アルベルト・カマラサ Aruberuto Kamarasa) was a member of the Cuban Navy Special Forces and the leader and advisor of FARC's elite Sumasas Brigade.
Appearance[]
Camarasa was a tall, slender Hispanic man of Cuban nationality. He had short but thick, dark black hair with bangs, slender eyes, and tan skin. He wore a Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Cuba soldier uniform with a Cuban Armed Forces patch on his left shoulder. He used a Makarov PMM pistol as his weapon of choice.
Personality[]
Being trained in the Cuban military, Camarasa was quite disciplined and had great planning skills. He had a calm but serious demeanor even at times when he felt angry and betrayed as shown when he called Abrego. Camarasa was an adamant communist who aided FARC secretariat Manuel Marulanda while Camarasa advised the Sumasas Brigade, as well as admiring Carlos the Jackal.[2]
History[]
Camarasa worked for the Cuban FAR as a soldier and received additional training in Cuba in the same regiment that Roberta trained under.[1] Although he was willing to help FARC per Marulanda's request, he ultimately had loyalty to his superiors in Havana, Cuba.
El Baile de la muerte / Roberta's Blood Trail[]
In 1996, when rumor spread that Roberta was in Roanapur (to take out the U.S. Army members there), Camarasa heard out a request from FARC secretariat Marulanda to kill her once Boss Pasturia informed FARC about the rumor. Camarasa, who believed that Roberta betrayed FARC and became a reactionary, gladly agreed and traveled with the Sumasas Brigade to Thailand with Abrego and the Colombians' help since the Colombian Cartel had a fragile alliance with FARC. On the way, Camarasa advised his men to show no mercy to Roberta and not to underestimate her, recalling that she was an ex-advisor to Marulanda.[2] Just before the Grey Fox soldiers began to leave, Camarasa ordered his men to surround Roberta as well as avoid local hitmen in the area. When Roberta killed several FARC soldiers, she jumped to another building, with one soldier calling Alberto to report that her chase seemed suspicious. Alberto soon realized that Roberta's enemies in the area were U.S. soldiers, recognizing this from the sound of American carbine gunshots.[3] Because of this, Camarasa called Abrego to demand why he did not tell Camarasa about the soldiers, accusing Abrego of working with the NSA or another U.S. agency.
Abrego denied the connection and demanded Camarasa to not get in the way of the Americans, but Camarasa rejected his plea since he claimed that he did not take orders from the Colombian Cartel and would gladly kill any Americans in the way of his objective.[4] While Roberta continued to lose sanity and killed more FARC soldiers, Camarasa tracked her location and sneaked into her hiding place. Roberta spotted him but she was easily countered and disarmed by Camarasa. Pinning her down, he remarked that he easily took her down since he and she received the same training in Cuba and knew her moves. He also elaborated that he did not want to kill her but instead re-recruit her for FARC due to her superhuman skill, stating that she could help revive and train the leftist guerrillas. He elaborated that he and Commander Vargas would be successful in vouching for her due to his connections in Havana and if they brought back American heads.
Garcia Lovelace, who had been looking for Roberta in the building, overheard their conversation and grabbed a crowbar while hiding behind a corner. Roberta, feigning friendliness, agreed to work for Camarasa, even saying that she did not care about what could happen to Garcia anymore. She attempted to seduce him to distract him.[1] He agreed to have sexual intercourse but warned her that he would shoot her if she tried anything unusual. As Roberta undressed, she managed to fire a bullet into Camarasa's abdomen using a secret chamber in her belt buckle, greatly injuring him. He tried to grab his pistol, but Roberta kicked it away and began bludgeoning him to death with her fists, killing him and frightening Garcia.[5]
