Eda Initial Stage history[]
Growing up in a suburban woodland, Angela was born to the survivalist Burt Gummer and an unnamed mother. Her father would encourage her to spar with him, but she apparently could never beat him. According to Burt, Angela's favorite firearm to use was an FN FNC assault rifle, which she used proficiently.[1] As a teenager, she cried because the cheerleader outfit that her father gave her was too small for her large build. Before her disappearance, Angela happily celebrated her 18th birthday with Burt. As an adult, in the 1980s, the Gummer family's woodlands property was sought out by the Enos family for the purpose of clearing the forest and building a large resort. At the same time, Angela attracted the gaze of a young Enos II, who fell in love with her and secretly dated her. Unknown to the young man, his love was not requited, as Angela intended to deceive him. She convinced him to give her $500,000 from his family's wealth, so he went to his mansion's safe and put $500,000 into a duffel bag.[2]
Although Angela told Enos II that she could not betray her family or abandon her family, she intended on leaving the Deep South for good. Reconvening with him, she drove him to a remote area and suddenly subdued the young man, tying him to a fence off the road. Confused, Enos II desperately asked Angela why she was departing alone, reminding her that she told him she could not abandon her family. Saddened, he asked if she was truly abandoning him, to which Angela replied that she had had enough of being tied to their town in the Deep South. She elaborated that the people of Lakeside were completely immersed in the old-fashioned place, spending their unchanging days by drinking, gambling, and fighting to get rid of their sorrows. Commenting that it would probably remain the same 10 years into the future, she professed that she did not want to live like that and would rather be in charge of her own life. Distraught, Enos II pleaded with her not to go, exclaiming that he loved her. Hoisting the bag of money over her shoulder, Angela looked at him and bid her "darling" goodbye, smirkingly admitting that she loved him too before driving away in her car.[3]
Her current whereabouts and fate are unknown. Upon learning about Angela's disappearance, Burt Gummer became enraged but instead of believing the real story, he convinced himself that the Enos family tricked Angela into falling in love with Enos II. Rather than accepting that his daughter stole the Enos family's money and ran away, Gummer believed that Angela was tortured to death by the Enos gangsters, who also supposedly fed the pieces of her body to crocodiles. The survivalist went on a rampage throughout town and beat up several people, resulting in the local businesses banning him from their establishments. Furthermore, a feud between Gummer and the Enos family ensued, with the two sides clashing because the latter wanted to take his land to fulfill their large financial investment in a potential resort.[2]
A Savage Place[]
10 years later into the feud, Burt Gummer again confronted Needham and his men when they attempted to abduct and get revenge on Eda and Amber. Immediately after he forced the gangsters to take cover, the old man ordered Eda to get in his car, but he first squinted at her and thought that she was Angela, completely surprising him.[4] Forcibly taking Eda to his house, Gummer believed that Angela was resurrected by some miracle in the form of Eda, who fervently and angrily denied being his daughter. He gave his daughter's cheerleader uniform to Eda, who fit in it perfectly. At the same time, Needham and his men returned to the Enos family mansion, where they informed Enos II that Angela was allegedly alive because one of the gangsters heard Gummer confirm her presence. Wanting revenge against the woman for stealing his money and lying to him, the boss asserted that he wanted to hunt her down at Gummer's cabin. Needham also agreed to the idea despite knowing that Eda was not Angela because he resented Enos II for lacking the guts to directly confront Gummer in the first place, in addition to allowing Angela to steal the crime family's money and get away with it.[2]
Subsequently, the Enos family and their hired mercenaries attempted to kill Gummer and Eda to no avail.[1] After the fighting, Enos II furiously told the captured Gummer that he knew Angela was still alive and demanded to know her location. In blissful denial, the old man still believed that Angela was killed by the gangsters but was resurrected in the form of Eda. After he broke free of his binds and defeated the Enos gangsters, Gummer praised the annoyed "Angela" for gaining better firearm skills, concluding that Eda's skills were a gift from God.[3]
