Black Lagoon[]

When a disk containing information on developing nuclear weapons was stolen from the ship called Melanesia, many of the upper management employees of Asahi Heavy Industrial Co. held an emergency meeting to discuss the matter. Listening to Kageyama, the Director learned about how the Bougainvillea Trade Company, a front for the Russian crime syndicate known as Hotel Moscow, arranged for the disk's theft. Curious, the Director asked him what exactly the Russians wanted from them, with Kageyama answering that they likely wanted to control the route to Southeast Asia where the negotiation would take place. Receiving a note that the disk was not in the company's hold but with the pirates who stole it, Kageyama proposed using any means necessary to retrieve the disk before the Russians acquired it. Sharing the Director's view that the blackmail would lead to a huge scandal for their company, the Vice President permitted Kageyama to resolve the affair himself.[1]

After the meeting, that night, Fujiwara and Kageyama went to the Director's office while the former apologized for his own employee that got captured by the pirates. The Director was shocked to hear the news, prompting Fujiwara to clarify that the employee who held the disk was Rokurō Okajima, one of the few employees whom they could trust with handling the confidential information. Nonchalantly, the Director asked Kageyama what he had planned, and the latter informed him that he had already discreetly hired the Extra Order Company to kill the pirates in order to destroy the disk. Permitting the decision, the Director concluded that he still felt bad for the employee who would have to die to hide the scandal that could leak should the disk fall into criminal hands.[2] Later, after Kageyama paid Hotel Moscow for the disk, the Director and the other board members reconvened in their conference room and clapped in praise of Kageyama's success.[3]
