Plot[]

At a table outside the Chinese herbal pharmacy Xu Fu Tang, Sawyer the Cleaner morbidly gulps down noodle soup with chopsticks while the elderly Chinese storeowner asks her how it is. Stating that the soup is original, the elder informs Sawyer that his Chinese store's secret ingredient is in the soup, claiming that it can combat low blood circulation and irregular menstrual cycles. Hearing fast footsteps, the elder tells Shenhua that she is late, but he and Sawyer turn to see a Chinese girl carrying a young boy running into their table, accidentally knocking them out of their chairs. As the old man angrily wonders what they are doing, they turn around to see two straw-hat, caped figures speaking Mandarin, demanding that the girl hand over the child.

As blood runs down her face, the girl shows the middle finger and grins, expletively warning the figures to back off. The girl pulls out two sticks of lighted dynamite, causing the old man to instinctively shield the boy and warn Sawyer too. The two figures are set aback, and the explosion destroys the store building, shocking the elder and making him ask several questions in pauses regarding what the newcomers are doing and who they are. Sawyer and the elder turn around to see the young boy stand up unharmed, with the elder being confused at first. He suggests to the boy that if his disturbance is related to the boy's "home country," then he should see Mr. Chang. As he relays the advice to him, Sawyer senses trouble and a thin whip almost hits them both.

From the collapsed building emerges the two shadowy figures with their white, glaring eyes, surprising the elder. Both figures charge at them, one armed with two double-hooked swords and one armed with dual whips, making the old man plead with Sawyer to fight back quickly. Only having chopsticks in her hands, Sawyer freezes as one of the whips inches closer to her face, but thankfully Shenhua arrives and blocks the whip with her corded sword, apologizing for being late. She calmly hands the cleaner her chainsaw, making Sawyer gleefully smile. The elder sweats and asks Shenhua what is going on, but the Taiwanese woman replies that she only knows that the two are bad guys, adding that she cannot understand them since they do not speak.

Although the elder asks what the young boy had done, Shenhua and Sawyer begin to clash with the hooked-sword wielder and whip wielder respectively. As the old man and young child watch the fight, the elder smells something unusual, sensing something bad. Shenhua yells that China is old, big and complicated, elaborating that there are many inviolable areas in the underworld and that the two men left their area and have entered Roanapur. Continuing to block the attackers, Shenhua clarifies that she had been asked by the Triad to act as a watchwoman, saying that the men screwed up first. Both women then successfully knock both men to the ground as their straw hats fly off their heads. With everyone exhausted from the fighting, Shenhua angrily orders the men to calm down. With a trick up their sleeve, the two men suddenly envelop themselves in smoke, but to their surprise some exposed wire comes into contact with a pipe's leaking water, making the silhouetted men appear to be charging up at first but in reality are being electrocuted, shocking the two women.

The mist dissipates, revealing the two men to be charred and dead. The young girl who protected the child appears, commenting on the black fog. Relieved to see the girl, the elder admits that he is glad she survived. As the boy stares blankly, the girl states that the boy was hidden as a living god but got kidnapped by the two men, and darkness would have enveloped the world if he was not saved, thanking Shenhua and Sawyer, who stay silent. Looking around, the elder gloomily contemplates upon his destroyed store and how his burnt herbal products gave him a strange hallucination. The young girl assures him that there should be compensation for him from her employer, and she breaks her seriousness by happily bidding them goodbye. The elder asks Shenhua how she feels, but she immediately says that she does not care since she is no longer involved, commenting that she hopes to never see the two children again. Walking away, the boy's eyes and smile are completely blank white.
