The Black Lagoon (ブラック・ラグーン号 Burakku Ragūn-gō), also just called the Lagoon (ラグーン号 Ragūn-gō), is an Elco PT boat and the water transport of the Lagoon Company, which gets its company name from the boat. Dutch serves as the captain of the Black Lagoon, and he and Benny are responsible for steering and communications respectively. Revy and Rock are usually delegated to watchman roles, but Revy also serves as the boat's gunwoman.
Features[]
The 80-foot-long torpedo boat has the typical features of the Elco PT boat, having four torpedo launchers on deck, a three-chine hull, a singular radar mast, a smoke screen generator on the stern, five cowl vents, three propellers on the stern hull, four deck hatches (the lazarette and engine room hatches on the rear and the galley and forepeak hatches on the boat's fore), and two turrets that extend upward from the bridge/chart house and dayroom. The Black Lagoon is metallic light gray but is painted red below her waterline. The front turret on starboard leads down into the bridge of the ship, whereas the aft turret goes into the hold. Additionally, Dutch keeps a Zodiac motorboat on deck for disembarking from the Black Lagoon for stealth missions or to separate passengers.
Bridge[]
This is the area where Dutch pilots Black Lagoon, and located on the dashboard are the torpedo firing control box, a hand radio, and several marine gauges pertaining to data such as oil pressure, speed, and battery conditions. There are two front rectangular windows on the bridge's exterior, and to the fore starboard in the room is a door leading to the galley hatch. To the port aft of the room is a ladder leading below to the communications room, and the ladder to the starboard aft in the bridge is the starboard turret leading above to the deck, which is the most common entrance/exit for crew members.
Communications room[]
This room is where Benny stores his electronic equipment, including his internet-accessible computer that he uses to keep track of other ships and their communications. Benny uses the area as a place for detecting other vessels via radar as well as researching information and allowing/barring communication with other vessels. Benny can also control the Black Lagoon's engines from the same room as if he were a copilot, also being able to pilot the PT boat.[1][2][3] In here, the shelves hold the various electronics (such as radios, computer monitors, and computer cases), and the door on the starboard wall leads into the hold.[4] The ladder right next to Benny's chair and PC setup leads above into the bridge.
Hold[]
Also called the day room, this room is a narrow area aft of the bridge where passengers commonly reside, and Dutch also uses the room for reviewing jobs with his crew members, and if necessary, storing extra supplies. There are two rectangular windows each on starboard and port, although they are usually covered with blackout blinds, and below the blinds are two opposite blue passenger benches. To the aft of the hold is a door leading to the port turret entryway.
Engine room[]
Only accessible via the deck's lazarette and engine room hatches,[3] this room hosts Black Lagoon's Packard 3600HW engines that power the PT boat.[5] When necessary, both Dutch and Benny, the latter also being a skilled mechanic, are capable of maintaining and fixing the engines.
History[]
Black Lagoon[]
Sometime around the beginning of 1995, Dutch and Revy raided the Melanesia on where Rock, at the time named Rokurō Okajima and an employee of Asahi Heavy Industrial Co., was separated from his Borneo-branch group and punched by Dutch, who asked him about the disk that his boss gave him. Rock confirmed the particular item was in his possession, and Benny warned his captain that a Philippine Navy patrol boat was approaching the area. Accordingly, Dutch ordered the ship crew to stay put for thirty minutes after he left or he would use his torpedoes on his boat. Rock thought that he would be safe, but Revy decided to force him onto the Black Lagoon. On board, Dutch berated Revy for bringing the Japanese salaryman on board, causing her to lash out by shooting several bullets around Rock and scaring him. Dutch disarmed her until she agreed to calm down, and Dutch took Rock onto the deck. As Rock laid against the exterior bridge, Dutch told him that he would try contacting his company to retrieve him, afterward entering the galley hatch back to the bridge. At night, the crew headed to Roanapur and the Black Lagoon docked, with the three crew members deciding to get a drink at the Yellow Flag. Benny told Rock that he could come along until they contacted his company, so he tagged along.[6]
Soon, the bar was attacked by Extra Order mercenaries and Dutch begrudgingly brought Rock with him while escaping, leaving town via the Black Lagoon. While still a hostage, one of Asahi Industries' managers, Kageyama, called Rock to inform him that he would be declared dead, telling him to disappear in the South China Sea for the sake of the company since mercenaries were after the ship that he boarded. Minutes later, an E.O. Captain arrived via a gunship and shot at the Black Lagoon, putting holes into its deck. Revy tried her best to use her anti-materiel rifle to take down the helicopter to no avail, and at the same time Rock attempted to flee. Angered by him using their ship, Revy tackled him but had her tirade immediately interrupted by more gunfire, forcing the Black Lagoon to steer elsewhere, eventually becoming trapped in a small channel. Feeling like they had no choice, Dutch decided that their best bet of evading death was increasing their speed by ditching the PT boat's torpedoes, but Rock dissuaded him since he had a plan. Although Revy found the plan crazy, Dutch laughed that Rock was crazy, but was interested that his plan might just work, so the boat went forward to play a game of chicken with the gunship.
Accepting the challenge, the helicopter fired two missiles at the PT boat, and Rock successfully diverted the missiles using a flare gun. Getting back inside the boat, Rock hurried for cover as Dutch launched the boat's torpedoes while using a sunken ship as a ramp, successfully landing one torpedo into the gunship, destroying it. Dutch woke up from the boat crash, thankful that he was still alive and asking if everyone was okay. Benny and Revy were awake, but the latter pointed out that Rock yelled something as the torpedoes launched, falling unconscious from the crash afterward. With the disk and their boat intact, the Lagoon Company arrived at the drop-off point on Palawan Island (or the port of Belawan in the anime) to give the disk to Balalaika, who gave it back to Kageyama in exchange for ransom money. Rock told his boss that he quit his job, joining the Lagoon Company as the fourth member.[1]
Chase for ring-ding ships[]
On Rock's first job, he stood on the stern, calmly shouting into a megaphone to warn a large ship, the St. Jones, to stop or face consequences. When the ship communicated to Benny that they would force their way through if the Black Lagoon did not move, Dutch ordered Revy to fire an RPG at the ship's bow, with Revy then taking the megaphone from Rock to yell at the crew members. Dutch then told Benny to inform Can Wei Bang, their client, that they could retrieve the ship before a ruckus started, so the Lagoon Company headed back to Roanapur.[7] While at port, Dutch got a job from Donnie Yen to pick up a package from the Vietnamese military, so he had Benny drive him, Revy and Rock to the docks to board Black Lagoon. Meanwhile, after being given the cold-shoulder by Dutch, Chen hired Luak to pursue and kill the Lagoon Company, already having bribed Donnie Yen to give Dutch a faux job.
While sailing on the seas, Benny, in the communications room, detected six vessels pursuing from behind, but Dutch did not think that it could be naval ships looking for pirates. Soon, Dutch got a transmission from Luak on the radio, telling him that he would decimate his ship. Unfortunately for Luak, Dutch suddenly slowed his boat down, making two enemy boats destroy one another via friendly fire. Revy volunteered to destroy the boats, so Dutch told her to start with the leftmost boat, swerving the Black Lagoon close to it to allow Revy's rampage. While Revy hopped onto the boats and shot all the men using a submachine gun and even a grenade launcher, Rock watched the whole battle in awe. Seeing that five boats of his sank, Luak tried to flee but Revy launched a grenade at his fleeting boat, killing him. Dutch and co. returned to Roanapur afterward, and Balalaika had Chen tortured and murdered for attempting to kill the Lagoon Company.[8]
Rasta Blasta[]
Receiving a delivery job from the Manisarera Cartel, the Black Lagoon stopped next to a ship, where Rock checked for all the packages, one of them being a child. Rock brought the boy on board the Black Lagoon and asked Dutch if he was their package, which the captain confirmed. In the hold, Revy tried to watch the boy but lost her temper when he threw food at her, so Rock grabbed Revy out of the room while he watched the boy instead. Revy and Benny waited in the bridge while Rock talked with the boy, finding out that he was Garcia Lovelace, heir to the Lovelace family fortune. Rock did not believe his story at first, but Garcia told him matching details about his family, including their particular dog breed and given name.
At sunset, Rock left the hold for a bit and entered the bridge to inform Dutch that he was suspicious about the Manisarera Cartel's story since Garcia was not an orphan like they told Lagoon Company, in addition to details left out about his family connections. Revy told Rock not to get attached to their "package," with Rock responding that he did not deny feeling pity but still had skepticism. To ease their worries, Dutch called Balalaika for a favor to get background on both the Manisarera Cartel and the Lovelace family. Asking her to call him back at the Yellow Flag, he decided to steer Black Lagoon toward Roanapur rather than heading to Hat Yai as planned in order to await clearer info. Around nighttime, the Lagoon Company disembarked at the dock and brought Garcia to the Yellow Flag, where they soon clashed with Garcia's rescuer Roberta.[9]
Das Wieder Erstehen Des Adlers[]
A French telecommunications company discovered the wreckage of the U-234 while laying down undersea cable in late 1994, causing an international dispute. Months later in March 1995, the Lagoon Company got a job from a Spanish antique company dealing in Nazi memorabilia to salvage a painting titled "The Twelve Knights Led by Brunhilda" from the same sunken boat, so Dutch and his crew boarded the Black Lagoon and went to the salvage site. In the hold, Benny had a table in the middle of the room and explained the history of the U-boat and the background of the painting to the Lagoon crew, who saw the pictures of the U-boat members as well as the blueprints of the U-boat for how to enter the ship via the torpedo tubes. Dutch also explained their contractor being a Nazi art collector as well as the Lagoon Company being hired since several countries were in dispute about the rightful owners of the ocean territory where the U-boat wreckage was.
After explaining the plan, Rock and Revy donned scuba gear and dived approximately 50 meters below into the sea, finding the U-boat. While Dutch and Benny remained on deck to surveil their surroundings, Benny noticed a large ship, the White Heather, heading their way. He remarked that the ship should not be the cable company since he listened to the company's communications and discovered that they would not be in the area for a few more days. Once Benny hoisted a Thai Navy flag onto the boat, the White Heather radioed the Black Lagoon to ask the latter to respond, with Dutch replying that his boat was PT-377 of the Thai Navy on a mission, in turn asking the White Heather to provide their nationality, ship number and signal code. Seeing that the boat was alone, the White Heather asked Dutch where his mother ship was, to which he stated that the mother ship was a classified military matter, once more requesting the White Heather to provide her information.
With the White Heather not responding, Dutch told Benny that he would go to the control room, asking the latter to keep watch. As Dutch started the engines, Benny with his binoculars saw that the enemy crew was loading TOW missiles, telling Dutch to steer the Black Lagoon immediately away. As the Black Lagoon sped away from the salvage site, she barely evaded the two TOW missiles while Benny hung onto the forepeak hatch for dear life.[10] Keeping a far distance from the White Heather, Benny and Dutch could only surveil the White Heather as they saw them send a diving pod into the ocean. After Revy and Rock fought the neo-Nazis in the U-boat with the latter group stealing the painting, Benny saw Revy and Rock's tracking beacons activate, making him worry since they did not know that the White Heather had a cache of superior weapons onboard rivaling Revy's underwater rifle.
Minutes later, Benny and Dutch observed gunfire, which soon ended. Benny was worried that he would have to pick up two bodies, but Dutch told him they would have to go to the site until the White Heather left. Once the enemy ship left, the Black Lagoon sailed to the area and picked up Revy and Rock, who informed Dutch and Benny about the neo-Nazis.[11] Once it was nighttime, Dutch and Revy prepared to disembark the Black Lagoon on a Zodiac raft so that they could stealth near the White Heather and raid the ship. After they left and during the attack on the White Heather, Benny and Rock remained in the bridge, wondering what their crew members were doing and discussing how both of them could never take up a gun unlike their two associates. Upon taking the painting and finding out that Alfred also hired the neo-Nazis to get the painting, Dutch and Revy fired a flare into the sky to signal to the Black Lagoon to pick them up, so Benny started the boat's engines and picked up Revy and Dutch.[2]
Calm down, two men[]
Benny needed to do repairs on the Black Lagoon's engines, so Dutch decided that he would help him out, ordering Rock to go with Revy across town to do some errands. At sunset that day, Benny sat on the stern with Dutch coming on deck and saying that the engine gave him some trouble. Benny offered him a can of beer from the cooler, with both men drinking after their hard work.[12]
Bloodsport Fairy tale[]
After Gretel held Eda at gunpoint, the child ordered the nun to find her a getaway crew. With a gun to her head, Eda guided the child to the docks, where Gretel told the Lagoon Company that she wanted to escape. Dutch agreed to help the murderous child on the condition that she give up her weapon and free Eda in perfect health, so she agreed and boarded the Black Lagoon, staying in the boat's hold.[13] As Dutch decided to drop off Gretel northward around Hainan Island in the South China Sea, he got a call from Balalaika of Hotel Moscow. The mafia leader asked Dutch why he was helping Gretel given their relationship and despite Gretel's role in killing Hotel Moscow members, but Dutch replied that he was merely doing it for money, so Balalaika told him there would be no hard feelings but warned him that reinforcements would prevent his mission being complete. In the South China Sea, Benny and Dutch saw that the Vietnamese Navy was patrolling the area using missile ships, blockading their path due to being bribed by Hotel Moscow. While looking at a map for other destinations, Benny recommended Melody Lee in Brunei at first. Hearing that they did not have enough fuel to go there, he suggested dropping the girl off in Pangkalpinang, Indonesia with Elroy, so Dutch changed the Black Lagoon's course.
In the Black Lagoon's hold, Rock talked with Gretel, who told the Japanese deliveryman about her orphanhood, including the abuse that she suffered. Upon hearing her cynical view of the world, Rock hugged the child in an attempt to comfort her, telling her that evil and violence were only a small fraction of the world. Thanking Rock for his kindness, the child showed him her genitals, freaking him out. Shocked and disgusted by her action, Rock left the hold and climbed above onto the deck, so Revy told Benny to watch him while she dealt with the child. As Revy angrily kept watch of Gretel, Rock cried in anger on deck due to the criminals that turned Gretel into a monster, but Benny nonchalantly told Rock that sometimes it was best to look the other way. Rock grabbed Benny's collar in anger, but Benny reminded him that they could not just adopt the child and that the horrible things done to her could not be simply reversed.
In due time, the Black Lagoon arrived at Pangkalpinang, with Elroy greeting the crew at the docks. As soon as Gretel disembarked and bid Rock goodbye, Elroy shot her in the back of the head, killing her. Elroy explained that Hotel Moscow paid him well, remarking that it would be his last job. Before leaving after the grim affair, Dutch told his crew to get a tarp for covering Gretel's body, but Rock told him that it was not necessary since it would be better for Gretel to look at the sky.[14]
Goat, Jihad, Rock'N Roll[]
After escaping Hezbollah's assault on the Lagoon Company office, the four Lagoon sailors were escorted by a Hong Kong Triad car to the docks. There, they boarded the Black Lagoon to deliver intelligence documents to the CIA at a Filipino Army base on Basilan Island with a deadline of 2 days.[15] Having the real documents while other teams had fake documents, the Black Lagoon sailed southward and Benny informed Revy in the bridge that several motorboat ships approached them from the rear. Standing above the starboard turret, Revy told Rock to get her a Remington rifle, so Rock found her one, which she used to shoot at a few ships. Unfortunately for them, the ships suddenly spread out, surrounding the Black Lagoon in a net formation at a far distance.
While trying to figure out their plan, Benny informed Dutch that a cargo ship was nearby, which was likely hijacked to serve as a blockade for the Black Lagoon while the net forced them in that direction. Rock recommended that they use the torpedoes, but Revy told him that the torpedoes were not onboard, shocking him. Agreeing with Revy's advice about the enemies' engines, Dutch elaborated to Rock that they would not have enough time to use a rocket launcher to get their engines since they would arrive at the enemy cargo ship in a few minutes. Upon Dutch telling Rock about the explosive Semtex, Rock thought of an idea which his fellow sailors agreed to execute.[16]
Revy, lying down on the fore deck in front of the bridge, had the Semtex bombs attached to a harpoon, and she fired the weapon toward the cargo ship's hull. Upon firing, Dutch turned the Black Lagoon at a 180-degree angle in line with the cargo ship's starboard side with Revy hanging onto a hatch while Rock detonated the explosives, causing the left and right enemy pincer boats to run right into the explosion point, killing the pincers and escaping the net. Right after escaping the net, Dutch told Revy that she and Rock would take the documents and disembark on a Zodiac raft when in view of the Zamboanga Coast while the Black Lagoon would act as a decoy for the remaining pursuers.[17] Before leaving at night, Dutch informed Revy that Mister Chang changed the password for the delivery and told her to relay the change to Rock, and the team went their separate ways for the remainder of the mission.[18]
Fujiyama Gangsta Paradise[]
Only in the anime, when he returned to Roanapur after acting as an English-to-Japanese translator for Balalaika in Japan, Rock sat on the deck of the PT boat looking at the city. Walking up to him, Benny handed him a letter from Balalaika containing a photograph of the deceased Yukio Washimine with a red X over her picture. Also looking at Roanapur, Benny remarked that the city was not too bad of a place. Standing up, Rock agreed and proclaimed that he planned to watch everything that occurred in the city from the twilight.[19]
Greenback Jane[]
When Eda and Revy rescued Jane from several bounty hunters, Rock drove them to the docks to escort Jane out of Roanapur via the Black Lagoon, but Rock informed Eda on the way there that the boat was being used by Benny and Dutch for business. Going inside the Lagoon Company dock house, Revy radioed Dutch and asked him to come back to port and abandon his current delivery, adding that Eda would have the Rip-Off Church compensate for Isaac's goods since saving Jane was a high-paying job.[20] Dutch and Benny agreed, so they sped to the docks, where Dutch soon saw that the dock house was on fire, angering him. As they got close to the docks, Dutch had Benny take over the controls while he climbed above the bridge, ordering Benny to do a U-turn once he got to the docks. At the docks, Dutch fired several smoke rounds from a riot gun at the docks to allow Revy, Eda, Rock and Jane to climb aboard without further pursuit from the bounty hunters.
As the Black Lagoon performed a U-turn and left the port, Russell and a few others managed to jump onto the stern. Russell ordered Claude "Torch" Weaver to distract the crew members with his flamethrower while he climbed below into the engine room. At the same time, Rock escorted Jane into the galley hatch, eventually leading her into the hold. Dutch told Revy that he would return to the bridge to do another sharp turn to swerve the bounty hunters off the deck, and once he took control, Benny went to the hold. While Jane remarked that Rock made her hit her head first when she climbed below the deck, Benny entered the room and greeted Jane, who blushed while introducing herself to him. The three then went into the communications room, wherein Jane discovered that Rock did not bring her laptop with him, resulting in an argument. Jane wanted to use Benny's computer, with the latter immediately rejecting her request but stated that he could hack into her files on her behalf since Eda would be angry about not accessing the money plates.
After entering the engine room via the lazarette hatch, Russell wanted to enter the hold but saw that there was no entrance, so he grabbed a large wrench to trash the engine room. Eda then entered and mocked him, ensuing in a shootout between the two. After Dutch swerved the Black Lagoon twice, Claude lost control and flew overboard as Revy killed him, and in the engine room Eda held a gun against the surrendering Russell. After Benny successfully hacked into Jane's partner's money plate files, she kissed him as a reward, and Eda killed Russell after he recognized her and she implicitly confessed that she was a CIA agent. The Black Lagoon then continued sailing the sea to drop Jane off near the port.[3]
El Baile de la muerte / Roberta's Blood Trail[]
When Roberta returned to Roanapur, she tracked down and attempted to attack the Grey Fox unit in the city. On the night of the fighting, Eda met up with Rock as he sat in Benny's car, and she told him that the U.S. soldiers' mission would still continue in spite of their original NSA plans being messed up due to Roberta's interference. Knowing that Grey Fox still needed transportation by boat, Rock asked Eda if she could use her information networks to inform Grey Fox about hiring the Black Lagoon to leave the city, so Eda agreed to his request.[21] At his beach house, Mister Chang got a phone call from Rock about being able to ship the NSA agents, and the NSA later called Chang for payment regarding passage onto the Black Lagoon.[22]
Once the Vysotniki provided cover to Grey Fox, the U.S. troops eventually boarded the Black Lagoon on the Mekong River, with Shane Caxton greeting Dutch and entering the bridge to listen to Benny's plans for the soldiers staying in both the hold and the engine room. Garcia Lovelace and Fabiola Iglesias also boarded the boat, with Garcia talking to Rock in the hold while Fabiola conversed with Revy on deck. In the bridge, Caxton learned that Dutch was also a Vietnam War veteran, asking Dutch about his service. During their brief talk, Caxton realized that Dutch lied about his service due to not understanding basic military slang, his story not matching real events, and his appearance being too young.[23] In the anime, the troops boarded the Black Lagoon at Roanapur's port.[24]
Afterward, Rock told Caxton that Garcia wanted to talk to him on deck, and the boy told the U.S. Army major about his plan to save Roberta from continuing her path of killing. Caxton went back below the deck to tell his soldiers of new information that he received, with his men reluctant but prepared to confront Roberta on their mission.[25] Arriving in the Golden Triangle region at night, Dutch stopped the boat to allow the soldiers to disembark for their mission to capture Shue Yan. As Caxton left the boat, he told Benny to be careful of Dutch's history since his Vietnam War veteran background was false.[26] As the fighting went on, the four pirates waited on the boat for the mission to end. The next morning after the remaining Grey Fox soldiers captured Shue Yan, they and Roberta, Garcia and Fabiola returned to the Black Lagoon. In the anime version of the ending and epilogue, Dutch brought the duffel bag of bonus money from Chang to Rock, and Revy also spoke to Rock about Roanapur and the path into darkness.[27]
The Wired Red Wild Card[]
After Jane cut Feng Yifei loose from her hacking group, she hired the Black Lagoon to travel her around the sea so that she could spend time with the off-duty Benny while he was on the boat. At the same time, the Lagoon Company got a job from a bank robber to give him passage on the Black Lagoon, but the client got killed, so Rock and Revy decided that they would tell Dutch to cancel the mission later that night.[28] On board the Black Lagoon, Jane threw herself onto Benny on the fore deck to make out with him, irritating Dutch since they were right in front of the bridge window.[29] Much later after Feng retrieved various information on the company that hired Jane to expose her, the Chinese hacker pinned the blame of the attack as well as unaccounted-for funds from Zamid Dhiyab onto Jane.
While Jane was having sexual intercourse with Benny on deck, she received a phone call from a fellow Highwaymen hacker, who informed her that she was under suspicion of betraying Reinbach A.G. Opening Benny's laptop, Jane saw the email from her colleagues about the sudden funds sent to the hacking group and the demand from Reinbach A.G. regarding her involvement, panicking furiously. The fellow hacker told Jane that she would have to disappear for a while or be kicked from the forum, but Jane could not hide in Roanapur due to the ongoing bounty on her head, and she refused to stay in other parts of the globe without internet access. After the hacker hung up, Jane tossed Benny's laptop in a fit of rage, surprising Benny.[30] Jane had an argument with Benny immediately and then took shelter in another country while Benny returned to Roanapur on the Black Lagoon.[31]
L'homme sombre[]
Upon finishing their interrogation of Le Majeur, Revy and Rock drove in Benny's car to the docks to the Black Lagoon, with Benny on deck asking them how their search for the murderers of Black men in town was going. Rock asked where Dutch was in order to receive his help, and he immediately appeared to warn Rock that he should not be peering into the captain's private life. Rock responded that he only wanted to bring the situation to an end so that any threats to the Lagoon Company and Roanapur would cease, adding that he was acting on behalf of the Council. Smiling, Dutch asked Rock what his plan was.[32]
New Girl in the Hood[]
After Le Majeur became a lapdog for Hotel Moscow by force, the Lagoon Company decided to take her in on Revy's recommendation. Revy and Rock had guided her around Roanapur to familiarize with places and things necessary for survival, and once finishing they drove to the dry dock.[33] After briefly meeting Dutch, Majeur boarded the Black Lagoon in order to fulfill Dutch's test for her. Out in the waters, Dutch steered in the bridge and bantered with Benny about the irony of becoming acquainted with one of his attempted killers. Meanwhile on deck in the relaxing weather, Revy, in her bikini, told Majeur to get ready to swim, so she took off her suit jacket to reveal a large tattoo around her one-piece bathing suit, earning Revy and Rock's compliments. Preparing the Zodiac raft to tie it to the PT boat and then pointing to the Buddha statue in the Roanapur bay, Revy explained that Majeur would have to swim from the boat to the statue and back to see if she had the stamina for their next job. Smiling, Majeur jumped into the water and began her test while Revy kicked the Zodiac raft into the water next to the hull's port side, and she and Rock sat in the boat while conversing about Revy's reasoning for taking Majeur under her wing. In due time, the exhausted Majeur managed to swim back to the PT boat successfully, completing Dutch's test, so the Black Lagoon navigated back to land.[34]
Trivia[]
- There were initially machine guns mounted on the Black Lagoon's two turrets in the first chapter (Chapter 00), but they were not seen again afterward (and not at all in the anime).[1]
