Clown is the fifty-second chapter of the Black Lagoon spinoff series Dismemberment Galore! The Gore Gore Girl. It was originally released on December 19, 2023.
Plot[]
At night inside her workplace, Sawyer the Cleaner finishes cutting apart a corpse with her chainsaw. Afterward, she begins to clean her protective wear when she hears a knock on the door. Turning around, she sees a piece of paper under the door, so she examines it and sees that it is an advertisement for a circus. Going outside, she tries to see the messenger but only hears someone laughing loudly as they run away, grabbing her attention. The next day, she and her assistant Choptop walk through town, with the latter remarking that he never heard anything about the circus being in Roanapur. Arriving outside an abandoned building, the punk tells Sawyer that the site is a former market where several drifters have taken up residence. Stating that their next job is to "clean up" the people inside, he then heads inside. In another room, a circus ringleader proclaims that Doctor Picton's Bloody Circus has commenced.
Sawyer and Choptop hear sounds nearby, and the punk says he can sense the presence of people but sees no one. Up ahead, the two notice the silhouette of a clown looking at them. As Choptop tries to determine who they are, two acrobats swing past them, startling them. A few seconds later, another clown rolls past them on a large ball, and the four performers grin at them. The tense Choptop wonders if they have been set up, commenting that he feels many eyes peering at him and Sawyer. Hearing him claim that the performers want to make a spectacle out of them, Sawyer prepares her chainsaw while Choptop pulls out his pistol. Immediately, the two acrobats, armed with knives on her lower body, fly at the two, so Choptop shoots at the female acrobat. As the male acrobat flies toward Sawyer, she positions her chainsaw between his legs. To his shock, he flies into the chainsaw, being cut apart vertically in half. Sawyer tries to assess her surroundings when several knives are thrown at her chest, surprising her. Despite the attack, the knives only bounce off her apron without injuring her, surprising the knife-juggling clown. Frustrated, she charges the clown and begins to kill him, and Choptop admits that he was glad he bought the knife-proof apron for her the other day.
At that point, the punk suggests that they flee because the situation will likely become more dangerous. Behind him, a pair of hands grabs him into the dark and silences him. Turning around to his direction, Sawyer sees the remaining performer, a white-faced clown with long sharpened nails. He jumps around and tries to intimidate Sawyer, but she remains unfazed and on guard. He then spins his body and jumps toward her, prompting her to block his attacks and hit him. She is pushed back, causing the clown to confidently laugh. Suddenly, he realizes that his right arm has been cut off. Seeing the clown frozen in shock from his injury, Sawyer seizes the opportunity to thrust her chainsaw into him, killing him and splattering blood all over herself. With the battle over, Sawyer wipes her blood-covered lips with her sleeve, causing her lips and cheeks to give the appearance of a Joker smile.
Later elsewhere, Doctor Picton expresses his awe with Sawyer's fight against his circus troupe. Speaking with him, Choptop asks how he liked Sawyer, confessing that he feels embarrassed about deceiving his boss to bring her to the abandoned market. Thanking the punk for his hard work, Doctor Picton answers that the show was a great success and therefore will clear Choptop's financial debt to the former's deceased older brother Picton. Mentioning that he will be running the Picton firm from now on, he again thanks Choptop for his "patronage," but the latter brushes it off and leaves. Smiling, Doctor Picton mutters that he likes Frederica Sawyer and wants her in his group someday.
