The collaborator (協力者 Kyōryoku-sha) is an unnamed Serbian Christian woman who is part of a Balkan group that wanted to expel al-Qaeda from the Balkans.

Appearance[]

She is a young Serbian woman with a skinny build, pale skin, long blond hair, light-colored eyes, and a horizontal scar across her nose and left cheek. She wears a large black head covering over her head and chest in addition to all-black clothing. She carries a loop-hilt smallsword for her primary weapon and a pistol for a backup weapon.

Eda Initial Stage history[]

Before the Dayton Agreement, during the Bosnian War, Bosnian Muslims were trapped between Croatian and Serbian forces. Wanting to aid them, several foreign volunteers came to their aid, although some of the fighters that aided them were quite radical, specifically al-Qaeda. Following the Dayton Agreement, not wanting domestic or foreign extremists in their country, certain people came together to push out al-Qaeda members from the Balkans, prompting Bosnians to work together with Serbian Christians like the collaborator.

Balkan crisis[]

Around the same time that Eda arrived in the Balkans, the collaborator chased down two al-Qaeda members, Dhiyab and Aiham, and killed them. She then chased two more fleeing men and jumped toward them, causing them to pull out their pistols. Swinging her sword up, she cut off one man's arm and then blocked a bullet from the second man with her sword, then cutting his head in half while slicing her sword through the first man's abdomen, killing them. As she sheathed her sword, two male associates came by and saw the dead bodies. When she reasoned that she was ordered not to let the men get away, one of the men berated her for killing the fighters since they were their primary lead to find a certain man, Osama bin Laden. Taking off her head covering, she sternly retorted that he should be clearer next time, announcing her leave.[1]

About a week later, receiving information from Rashida and a Bosnian mother who was married to one of the extremist volunteers and gave information to the CIA, the collaborator anonymously tipped off the volunteers about Eda being the person who took information from the woman. Because Eda fought off the men who attempted to capture her, she took the initiative to cut off Eda's escape path and disarm her. Jumping down in front of the CIA agent, the collaborator tried to cut Eda's gun, but the latter dodged the move and shot at her. With swiftness, she rebuffed Eda's counterattack and pushed back the surprised agent, complimenting her fighting skills. As she forced Eda to stumble back, the collaborator pulled out her own pistol and stated the Jesus Prayer in Serbo-Croatian, "Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me, a sinner!" She shot the bulletproof-vested Eda in the chest, which knocked her down to the bottom of the hill, where several armed men surrounded the CIA agent.[2]

That night, the collaborator met up with the mother again and entered the house where Eda was being held and killed one guard. Right away, she ordered the mother to pilfer one of the pistols. In her overarching plan, the collaborator wanted to exploit the CIA's plan to have Eda be captured by the extremist volunteers in order to coerce the Bosnian government into cutting ties with the extremists and allowing the CIA to save their agent by directly confronting the extremists and their emir. In particular, she wanted Eda to be captured so that she could confront and kill bin Laden in person. To her dismay, bin Laden was quickly escorted from the region because the CIA arrived and began their attack.[3] Nonetheless, on a road nearby, she was able to sneak up to a few fighters whose car was crashed by Eda. Walking up to them, she sliced one man down to the heart and shoved her sword into another man's chest, killing them both. Turning her head, she glared at the surviving husband, who tried to crawl away. As she charged him, Eda yelled at the collaborator to stop since the men were her prey. Stabbing her sword into the man's left thigh, the woman dared her to prove it.

Dodging Eda's gunshot, the collaborator tried to cut off her arm, but Eda grabbed her arm and shot at her head, only grazing the Serb's head covering. The collaborator then pulled out her pistol, which was pushed out of her hand by Eda, who declared that she would not fall for the same trick again and headbutted her, disorienting her. When she got up, Eda had just shot the husband in the head. Immediately, the collaborator asked her if the mother and child were dead, which Eda solemnly confirmed. Exhausted, Eda rhetorically asked her if she was the person who killed the guard. Commenting on her mission, the collaborator remarked that she failed to achieve her objective because of the CIA's mess, adding that it was 3 months of tracking in vain. She then elaborated to the CIA agent that she was after a "rich Saudi man" (bin Laden), who led the group al-Qaeda. Processing the information, Eda asked the collaborator if she was a Serbian and wondered which group she was part of, be it the Srpska Republic or the Serbian government. Smugly smiling, she advised her to get an idea on her own, bidding the American goodbye.[4]
