Das Wieder Erstehen Des Adlers Part 2, also called Chapter 6, is the seventh chapter of the Black Lagoon manga. It was originally released in September 2002.

Summary[]

Having escaped the range of the TOW missiles, the Black Lagoon keeps its distance from the White Heather. Down in the wreckage of the U-234, Revy detonates the bomb which allows them to enter the U-boat. After she seals off the entrance, Rock berates her for not warning him, but she reminds him that she cannot talk underwater. As he mutters, he feels something under his hand and is terrified to see a human skull, but Revy brushes off his fear by reasoning that they are in a watery grave after all. Looking at the skeletons of the various soldiers, Rock wonders out loud what was going through their minds in their last moments. Only concerned about the job, Revy tells him that people simply die the way they die. Entering one room, the two pirates notice that the skeletons inside are laid in a way indicating that there was a gunfight.

Revy then comments on the SS officer's uniform and looks around the room with a flashlight, and Rock notices the painting on the floor, pleasing Revy. Advising him to wrap it up, she tells him that she will loot the rest of the boat, confusing him. She clarifies that their trip will be wasted if they do not take the high-price medals that the soldiers throughout the boat have on them, and Rock sits alone in dismay. On the White Heather, the neo-Nazis listen to their leader Rachmann give a grandiose speech about how they will witness a glorious moment in their group's history. Picking Kruppen Feller for the salvage job, Rachmann exchanges waterworks of tears with him for his supposed sacrifice to the Caucasian race. Blitz Stanford then orders his men to perform their anthem "Horst-Wessel-Lied."

Back on the Black Lagoon, Benny spies on them with his binoculars and laughs at the ridiculous marching, with Dutch watching in agreement. Smoking a cigarette, Dutch asks Benny what he thinks as a white man regarding the neo-Nazis' superiority complex. Benny replies that he is not fond of the chauvinist drivel, smilingly reminding Dutch that he is Jewish and therefore especially hates Nazis. Continuing to watch, Dutch asks him if Revy and Rock's beacons have activated, and Benny says that all they can do is talk politics and watch and suddenly notices the neo-Nazis utilizing a diving pod, asking Dutch what they should do. Reminding him that the neo-Nazis have missiles, the captain replies that they will just have to wait and say a prayer.

Coming back to Rock with a bag full of medals, Revy gladly remarks that she found lots of Iron Crosses, but the worried Rock recommends that they leave the medals behind, baffling her. He clarifies that the medals were earned by the boat's captain and crew mates and represent their memories. Sitting down and her mood turning sour, Revy shows Rock the Iron Cross and a human skull, saying that they are just things and are only given value by money. She then states that money is power which is more important than value, and she relays a story to Rock about how the cops beat her up for a crime she did not commit because she lived in the slums. Facepalming, Rock apologizes for bringing up his concern, but she cuts him off to say that she is not looking for sympathy. Glaring at Rock with dead eyes, Revy warns him that if he ever tries to preach to her again about doing something moral and proper, he will no longer be "one of them" and she will kill him.

Out of nowhere, they are interrupted by an explosion, and Revy orders Rock to quiet down. Knowing that there is only one exit corridor, Rock worries about how they will leave, but the smug Revy says that they can just kill them all, beginning to fire her weapon. As she shoots at the neo-Nazis, Revy yells at Rock to get the painting. As Rock grabs the painting, two men fire back, startling Rock enough to make him accidentally drop the painting onto the other side, allowing the neo-Nazis to secure it. Rock confirms to Revy that he lost the painting, so she tosses a grenade toward them, killing the men left behind but flooding the boat rapidly. As the neo-Nazis quickly ascend in their pod, Revy and Rock quickly don their diving gear and start to swim upward.
