The machine-gunner is an unnamed bounty hunter who participated in the bounty hunt for Jane.

Appearance[]

The machine-gunner is a tall, muscular man with pale skin. His head is completely bald, and he wears an orange tank top and dark gray sweatpants rolled up near his knees. He uses a handheld M134 Minigun for a weapon.

History[]

Greenback Jane[]

Only in the anime, he was first seen at the Yellow Flag sitting at a table with Shenhua, Quentin the Tiger and Sawyer the Cleaner while waiting for Russell to arrive. Soon, Russell arrived and restated the cheap $1,000 bounty on Jane to everyone, but the machine-gunner silently expressed the same skepticism that the other bounty hunters had toward the Floridan cowboy since he bossed them around as if he was familiar with Roanapur. Once all the bounty hunters got to know each other, everyone decided to head out to fulfill the job. As he followed the bounty hunters, the machine-gunner waved to Russell and smilingly told him that the cowboy would be paying the tab, infuriating Russell.[1]

After Eda and Revy aided Jane's escape from the Ramsap Inn, the machine-gunner tagged along with Shenhua and learned from Quentin's group about the two women helping Jane. Going to the Lagoon Company dry dock, the machine-gunner waited with the other bounty hunters to begin their attack to capture Jane. When Russell arrived and impatiently demanded to know what was going on, the machine-gunner gave him a shush gesture in order to quiet him down. Quietly going up the exterior stairs outside the second-floor entrance, the machine-gunner prepared his minigun and began firing, riddling the door with bullets and making it fall down. Immediately, two bounty hunters entered the building but Eda and Revy shot them both. Surprised, the machine-gunner tried to fire rapidly again, but Revy shot two bullets at him, which lodged into the minigun's front rotor and jammed it. Retreating, he used his large minigun as a shield against Revy's bullets, and to his fortune several bounty hunters covered his escape as he walked backwards down the stairs. Aiding them, he then took cover behind Benny's car with them until Revy fired back and shot at the lower part of the vehicle, scaring off the machine-gunner and the bounty hunters taking cover since the gas began to leak. Unharmed, the machine-gunner ran as the car exploded and flipped into the air.[2]

When the dry dock building collapsed as a result of the dock arson by Claude "Torch" Weaver, Jane's saviors began to run toward the pier since the Black Lagoon had arrived to help them escape. Following Russell, the machine-gunner ran toward the PT boat and avoided the smoke rounds that Dutch fired at the pier. Whereas Russell and a few other men managed to hop aboard as the boat steered away, the machine-gunner jumped off the pier but fell into the water, swimming back up to catch his breath and realizing that Jane already escaped his reach.[3]
