History[]

El Baile de la muerte / Roberta's Blood Trail[]

Six months before the bombing of the MVR rally, Lucientes resigned from his job in the DGCIM and met up with Shane Caxton, Raymond McDougal and Simon Dickens in Caracas, Venezuela. During their meeting to discuss the details of the bomb plan, the Venezuelan military police took a photograph of them by chance while investigating an embezzlement case. After the bombing occurred, a military officer who had connections to the Venezuelan Ministry of Defense and who was sympathetic to the MVR visited the Lovelace estate. There, the officer showed Garcia Lovelace and Roberta the photograph during his explanation of his own investigation, mentioning Lucientes' resignation as well as his role in stage security on the day of the bombing. Afterward, Roberta left the estate to track down Lucientes and his conspirators using the photograph.[1]

Sometime after the bombing, Lucientes was at a market when Roberta bumped into him. He kindly offered to help the maid until he noticed her glaring at him, scaring him and making him walk away hurriedly. As he thought he escaped her sight, Lucientes used his cell phone to call one of the conspirators for help, but Roberta was on the other end, showing that she had the cell phones of the other five conspirators. Lucientes then attempted to pull his firearm out, but Roberta stopped his arm with a leg kick. As she pinned the major against a wall, she grinned and asked him to recall the details of the meeting that he had months ago.

Later, the officer visited the Lovelace estate again since Garcia wanted to know about the whereabouts of the men in the photograph, but the officer told him that Lucientes' body had recently been found on a riverbank on the outskirts of Calabozo, Venezuela. Furthermore, Lucientes' lower legs were hacked and stabbed until they were unrecognizable, revealing that Roberta had tortured him for information.[2]

Trivia[]

  • The original Japanese version of the manga misspelled Lucientes' last name as "Luciendes" (ルシエンデス).
