History[]

El Baile de la muerte / Roberta's Blood Trail[]

In 1969 in Quảng Trị province, Vietnam during the Vietnam War, Shane Caxton's U.S. Army unit came across the girl's village. To the girl's shock, the American soldiers attacked the villagers and killed almost everyone except for her. Larkin looted corpses for money and even encouraged other American soldiers to do the same using the excuse that the villagers were Viet Cong sympathizers. After massacring the villagers, Larkin and fellow soldiers had surrounded the girl and planned on raping her, also offering Raymond McDougal to be the first rapist. Sitting on the ground and crying, the girl tearfully looked up at Raymond, who refused to take part in the looting and planned rape. Coming to the Vietnamese girl's aid, Caxton intervened and shielded her, insulting Larkin and his soldiers for their actions and threat to rape the child. While Larkin mocked Caxton's sense of justice, the girl grasped onto the latter out of fear. Challenging Larkin, Caxton pushed aside the girl for her safety and dueled the rogue soldier, shooting him. Helping him shield the girl, Raymond helped kill the other rogue soldiers who fought back, saving the girl. After the shooting ended, she was put onto a helicopter by Caxton to be escorted to safety.[1] Although she survived, the girl's current fate is unknown.
